August 2015 Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog. This Blog Hop is a circle of around 50 consultants.  You probably arrived here from Lori's blog.    Isn't everyone's work amazing?  I love it.

I  used the August SOTM "Framed" as the finishing touch on my first attempts at the Bokeh technique.  This is done by putting watercolors onto White watercolor paper. (Coming in new Idea Book Sept. 1).  Once they dry, you add circles using White Daisy Pigment Ink (Z2163).  I made a stencil by cutting a variety of circles into cardstock and then rubbing the ink through them.  [There are many videos on this technique on YouTube.]   After dry, I cut them down to 5"x3.75".  They are matted onto New England Ivy Cardstock (1282),  Lagoon Cardstock (X5635), and Gypsy Cardstock (X 5757).  The mats are all centered on 4.25"x5.5" White Daisy Cards and Envelopes Value Pack (X254).

The Sentiments on each card were cut from the newest CTMH Cricut Cartridge called Artistry. There are images that match our stamps exactly.  You can tell which stamps have corresponding cuts by the red outline on the stamp image in the idea book.

Now please hop on over to Jean's blog and see what she has in store for you. This Blog Hop is a circle, so as you move from blog to blog, you'll see some nice artwork and eventually end up back where you began.

  1. Neat idea! Really love the colors on that last one in particular.

    1. thanks Lori,
Funny thing is that watercolor was full of reds and blues and everyone hated it. I finally whitewashed it to tone it down, and I love it. I still have some left to make at least one more card, possibly two.

  2. These are stunning, I love the backgrounds you have created.

  3. What a neat technique!! Thanks for sharing! I really like your last card that is shown :)

  4. Love this technique and the purple card is awesome!

  5. Very pretty cards Carol! I really like the last card, my favorite!

  6. Oh fun, I haven't tried this technique yet. Your cards turned out great

  7. Spectacular cards. I cannot wait for my watercolor supplies to arrive so I can try this.
